I’ve been reading quite a few self help (ie motivational) books lately in replace of the time spent blogging. The one I’m currently reading is Thought Vibration by William W. Atkinson. I find it quite interesting but with a concept that is a little hard to grasp. It explains a lot about Law of Attraction and how the vibration of good thoughts can change one’s live. Will share with you some interesting facts next time. Very sleepy now…..

Nevertheless, let me leave this post with an excerpt I’ve gotten from another book I’ve done reading:

“We must seek to become imbued with the desire to advance. Everything will then work toward our aid. Obstacles will strengthen our resolve to win. Discouragement from others will only serve to strengthen and to arouse us to a stronger activity. I spoke to XCool and told him I decided to journalize my wedding preparation things in my blog too. However, I would like to keep it private as per his request. Only to be shared with people I know. That was until I met him. Now, I’ve changed my perception. Life is just better with someone to share all your happiness and sadness (that is if you’ve found someone worthwhile, of course). I never thought I’d marry him after knowing him for such a short time. He may not be perfect but he’s perfect for me. Been reflecting on my life after watching the LOA videos and I feel very grateful to have crossed path with him. Thank you, Universe!

Earlier, I kept telling every single soul I know that I am not excited to have my wedding. All the hassles and spotlights…. Guess I have been really affected by the other parts of my life. Today onwards, I beg to differ. Our wedding will mark the beginning of a happy and abundant life together. I am feeling more and more excited about it now that I’ve changed my perception. I hope he feels the same. I can’t wait for us to set our date and plan the wedding. I have some very interesting ideas and can’t wait to be ….. Mrs Lim. (He has been calling me that in front of his family and never failed to make me blush….wicked!)

I’ve lost at least 3 kgs since March. I have no idea what contributed to it but I’m happy! I did not go on any special diet nor did I exercise more. I just lost the weight effortlessly. I’m very close to the ideal weight I’ve asked Universe for. Just 1 kg more.

I’ve also better complexion now. I’ve always had acnes. I started having them when I was teenager and they continued to stay. When I’ve reached adulthood, it really sucks to still have acnes. Thanks to Universe who answered my call, I bumped into a long lost friend end of last year and he recommended me something which helped my skin. Within one week, my pores shrank and in less than a month, all acnes gone! My skin became fairer, acne scars were gone. With my skin being more supple and tighter, wrinkles were reduced. So happy to have found the secret to youthful skin!

p/s: I’m writing happy things so that I can count my blessings and put aside the Pickles because I know I’ll be making sandwiches with the Pickles soon. Now …. where’s my bread? Oh that’s right, I need to give time for the Universe to make things work.

Hmm.. Thinking if I should watch Germany vs. Spain match tomorrow night (or rather Thurs morning). I’m rooting for Germany. I want them to win World Cup 2010. They are so fast and tactical. Yay to Deutschland!

Buying wedding bands are not an easy task.. I’m telling you. When we first decided to shop for a pair, we set our criteria as such:

1) Platinum – Simply because Platinum is more lasting and wedding bands should be for eternity.
2) With diamonds – Usually, men rings do not have diamonds. But diamonds have brought me tremendous luck so I insisted to buy one with diamond for him. Besides, he has developed a liking for diamonds when shopping for my engagement ring. Plus, getting him his own diamond will keep him away from drooling at mine. ^^
3) Same design – We prefer to wear the same design just so it feels like the rings belong together.
4) Resizable – Just in case.
5) Budget – Actually, we didn’t set any budget.

Our criteria later changed. Less stores carry Platinum rings and mostly are fugly. Diamonds on men rings look very girlish due to their settings. Same designs hardly worked too. It was either the design was ugly for the men or ugly for the women. Lets face it. A same design merchandise has different effects on different genders.

After scouting through all jewelry stores in 4 major shopping malls, we finally FINALLY found our perfect ring in Le Lumiere, Gardens MidValley. We were in LOVE with the ring at first glance. The diamond has good hearts and arrows and the settings bring out the shine/potential of the diamonds. Very scintillating. They are in White Gold 18K with same size diamond each, and same design. The women ring sits elegantly and delicately on my finger. Whereas, the men ring looks strong and masculine on his finger. Yay!

Watched Toy Story 3 today. Really funny. I recommend everyone to watch it. Very creative folks they have in Pixar. It’s a bit touching at the ending part and I can’t help but to tear a little. Awwww….

XCool and I were looking for our ‘nest’ to embark on the next chapter of our lives. Our ideal location is between our families. We went to a lot of show houses and even viewed a few new sub-sale houses. The experience was a pretty bitter one. Why?

1. Klang Valley is running out of land for landed houses. In hot areas with available lands, developers prefer to construct luxurious semi-Ds or Bungalows. For terrace houses, the developers are moving further and further away. We want a good terrace house because buying a big house just doesn’t make any sense. It’s going to be just the two of us only. I rather stay in a small comfortable house. Easier to clean and we can spend more money in furnishing it.

2. Landed properties are so highly overpriced. Apparently, we were 3-4 months late. If we were to shop for one in Dec 2009 (or even Jan 2010), we could have saved RM20k-30k. I’m not joking. I actually liked one modal of terrace house so so much. The design, location and everything was just perfect. I called up all the agents I could find in that area and viewed a few units. The property in that area was so hot, the owners were upping the price by RM5k – RM10k within a week. Are you kidding me? I wouldn’t want to be a sucker. Concurrently, developers are driving prices up with every new launches. It’s insane!

3. XCool preferred new houses. He didn’t like the idea of staying in an old, previously occupied house. I respect his choice. He hasn’t got much other preference other than this so okay…. compromise is everything in a relationship….. I suppose.

4. Demand for houses are high. It seems that houses for new projects were grabbed within minutes on launching day. I even overheard that people queued up at the sales gallery around 3am. Everyone is buying houses like buying oxygen tanks in an oxygen-less world. Hmm…. that is also the reason why the property prices were driven higher and higher. Speculators are speculating a property bubble which is bound to burst. Will the prices be sustainable? I am quite unsure because even with the price hike, the demand is still high because population is growing and lands are scarce.

5. We have a budget. Personally, house for own stay is a kind of liability, just like buying a car for own use. The cheaper the better. I would rather save the cash to use it for investment properties. I’ve known people who bought a huge house when they got married. Their houses ended up so empty and dusty. Big house = hard to maintain without a maid.

6. Location matters. Even if we are willing to stay further away from prime areas, we still want to be able to easily access places we love to hangout. Since the both of use like to hang out in PJ area, townships like Kota Kemuning, Putra Height, Bukit Tinggi and etc were just very out of the way.

After all the headaches and heartbreaks, we finally made the decision to buy a new house from a developer, even though the house will be done in 2 years time. It was like a gift from Universe. There was only one good house number left on the chart. The other house numbers are taboo numbers like 4, 14, 44, 40. There was an early bird discount too. Yippie!

The sample house were done few days ago and we went to look at it a few times already. I’m very happy and satisfied with our decision. I can see a lot of potential in the house and already started making furnishing plans. Excited!

Later that evening, I called up my Feng Shui Master to ask him if he knows how to pick auspicious dates. Good thing I called him because his wife is an expert in this area. But I was told the same thing….we have to wait until the Chinese Almanac is out. Aiyeeee!! Initially, she chose a date at the end of this year for us but after much considerations, XCool and I decided that it’s too rush. Our house will not be ready by then. We’ll just wait…. for the Chinese Almanac to be out….. -_- Wouldn’t have known all this if it weren’t for the wedding. Guess this explains why most Chinese have their wedding at the end of the year or first month of the year. While sitting with her chatting, another topic emerged and we have engaged her service to help us in something else. I will reveal it later when it is confirmed.

By the way …You didn’t read wrongly. I did mention ‘our house’. We bought a landed house (and that’s the reason why I was busy shopping for one earlier). Haha. I will tell you some of my ‘interesting’ shopping experience later. I think the house we chose is perfect. XCool and I have been exchanging ideas on how to furnish the house, our wonderland. XCool gave me the permission to furnish it as I like. Yay! “As long as I have my working table for me to do my ‘magic’”, he added. I plan to furnish the house in such that he can do his ‘magic’ anywhere in the house. Excited!

There seems to be a bit of inconsistencies when it comes to choosing our wedding date. My dad and sis preferred that we have it end of this year. XCool and I think that early next year would be better. I’ve set up date with XCool and future-MIL to consult a guy who helps people to choose date based on chinese calendar and our birth time (八字). After that, we have to start looking for the banquet venue. I heard from my friends that most people book one year in advance. wtf.

I’m doing a full shift in my restaurant tonight. So happy to have XCool accompany me (even though he is doing his work all the time). My sister fired our night supervisor hence we need to fill in the gaps every now and then until we find a suitable substitute. Having nothing much to do, and letting my foreign workers run the show (testing them as well), I decided to draw out my guest list. Wow! Not an easy task at all. Just for my own friends, I already have 8 tables. And this is after narrowing it down. Another 8 tables to be allocated for my relatives. wtf. Wonder how many tables to allocate for my dad’s friends…

Oh yah… Universe, please please please let me have this big big sales that will bring constant income flow every month! Thank you, Universe!

Some have commented that we’re getting married too soon. After all, we’ve only dated for 10 months! Hmm. When you meet someone right, you just know it. I have always been skeptical when happily married friends tell me this. Now I know what they mean. My relationship with XCool feels comfortable and easy. There’s no stress and I know I can count on him at any point of time.

Next week, we’re going to consult someone to help us in choosing dates. I guess things will progress from there. As far as I’m concern, I’ve always prefer small and cozy weddings. Grand wedding = stress = no enjoyment.

A girl friend told me this over MSN “I’m so happy for you! When I first met you, you were heartbroken and sad…. then you met XCool…. then you became “unsure” of XCool …. to being happy and marrying”. All I told her was, this is the power of Law of Attraction.

Never underestimate the power of using positive words, thinking positive thoughts and knowing what you want. Love only those who love us. Try not to think badly of someone who we heard other people bad-mouthing about unless we experienced disgruntlement firsthand. Be neutral as much as possible. Better still, focus on the good side of a person rather than the bad side.

I will continue to practice Law of Attraction and hope to inspire as many people as possible. I’m happy that now I have a life partner to double the power of attracting good things. I’m trying very hard to use positive words and thoughts ALL THE TIME. I hope he does the same too. Otherwise, the energy may contra and neutralize… just like in another case that I’m experiencing.
