Building My Dream
Here’s something to encourage me. Hope it does the same for you too.
Dear friends,
At times, life does bring you some very tough challenges. When it happens, I will try to fix you.
Good night.

First of all, I’ve been working so hard for the last few weeks but I’m happy about it because I’m working to build passive income. Yesterday, I decided to take a day off from all this addictive work. This is the result of sleeping, eating, shopping and watching tv the whole day yesterday. Hoho! (Click to Enlarge)

Secondly, I find this quote funny. Dedicated to all my friends who have been cheated or abused in past relationships.

This is a little bad of me because I’m actually feeding my ego with this. Totally aware of it. But anyway, I think we deserve to have a little of that after all the heartaches. I read in Facebook there was another quote that said something like “The best revenge for a cheating ex’s b!tch is to watch them together and do nothing at all”. Hmm….
Ok. Back to work!

After a really long time, my wedding is finally over. Yesterday will be one of the most memorable day in my life. Everything went very smoothly with some hiccups here and there. No hiccups too major and it turned out to be a very beautiful wedding.
I’m very happy with the services I’ve gotten from my vendors. Almost all of them have received more than one compliments from my guests. One of our not-that-close-friend actually commented that our wedding is the best wedding she had ever attended. I felt very grateful to the vendors and thought I’d do them a favor and give them some testimonial online.
When I was looking for a good photographer, I really didn’t have to look very far. My secondary school friend, Ke Wynn, was already pretty well known in Penang. He worked very hard yesterday and I can’t wait to see my photos.
2) Precious Moments Wedding Services
Evan truly was the easiest person to work with. She is friendly, creative and most of all accommodating. I’m very amazed by her decoration job. She totally transformed my wedding from normal to wow! I have so many people complimenting on the decoration.
Rhumba pretty much is the biggest reason why my guests had a good time. They really are awesome. I chose Rhumba after watching their performance in one of my cookies’ wedding. I thought Jacky was great, he can play so many instruments. Also, Kenny have a voice that is quite like Jacky Cheung. Kian loves Jacky Cheung song so I know he will like it. Jacky played a very nice oldies (Herb Alpert – This guy’s in love) on the saxophone while ushering us in on the first march-in. Kenny was great too in singing our second march-in song (So much in love). We didn’t get to hear all their performance but those that we heard are very good. Many said they are the best wedding band they’ve ever heard.
Being a perfectionist, our emcee really helped a lot in controlling the crowd. Besides his witty and fun personality, he also helped out in planning the agenda and coordinating with the hotel folks on all the minor things that wouldn’t have occurred to me at all. Initially, I didn’t want to hire an emcee. I’m so glad I did. Looking back, if I didn’t hire William, I think my wedding would have been very chaotic due to my inexperience with events. Money well spent!
5) Makeup artist Vicki
Unfortunately, she does not have a website for me to link. My makeup artist was really good. At first, I engaged this lady who did makeup for my sister and many other cousins in my family. We trust that she has very good skills. When she told me that she couldn’t make it for my wedding and had arranged a partner of hers for me, I was crushed. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, actually. Her partner was just as good, if not better. My cousin told me that she’s very good with hair. I have to second that. Many have complimented on my first march-in hair (what my girlfriends known as “the shakira hair” lol). It was a big hairstyle and I wasn’t very sure about it when she suggested. It turned out very nice!
6) Storybook
Enya customized a very lovely card that goes with my theme, Apple Wonderland. I troubled her so many times by adding more and more card orders. She was still willing to help me rush the printings. Very grateful.
Affordable customized chocolate bars. What more can I ask for?
I think my guest thinks they are nice. Many took photos of it and posted in Facebook. Here’s one.
8 ) Premiere Hotel
Although we were a little bit unhappy about something they did, we think they have been a good host. They apologized for their mistake and made up by giving us 5 free night stays in their hotel. Serene has been exceptionally helpful and provided top class service throughout the whole time. Their management staff were just as cooperative. The ballroom was more than functional.
We were a unhappy with them pressuring us when we were choosing our pre-wedding photos. The problem was that all the photos were so nice, it was hard for us to decide. Because hubby didn’t like to see me all stressed up, he told them we will buy all the nice photos. I was very angry because it’s a lot of money but in the end, I realised I’m wrong. I should thank him instead of scold him. I’m glad we spent that money because we really enjoy looking at the photos. Our guests think they are good too. I’ve received many “wow!” “wah!” from my beloved aunties. Apart from the photos, their dresses are alright. Very limited, though. I ended up wearing two wedding gowns instead of one wedding and an evening gown. Reason was because I couldn’t find a nice evening gown!! I ended up wearing the kwa and two gowns I tried on when I first visited them and before I paid my deposit. Overall, I will give them a 7/10 but a 10/10 for their photography (ask for Charles as your photographer).
I really loved the dummy cake she created for us. Beautiful! However, trying to communicate with her is a tad hard. She’s a very busy person. It’s still manageable.
My cousin said my wedding was perfect and that I’ve put in a lot of effort. Actually, it’s not just the efforts I’ve put in. It is also my luck in finding really good vendors. If you want to engage any of the above, let me know. I can refer you.

Yesterday was a sad day for my hubby. His ultra mega super duper idol, Steve Jobs have passed away leaving his legacy behind. It makes me sad to watch him being sad. If you have Facebook, you probably were already bombarded with many smart quotes by the legendary Apple’s CEO. I think we should all learn from him and his experience.
In the evening, my hubby bought me an iPod Nano as a tribute to Steve Jobs. I have the best hubby in the whole world!

Today is day 9. Yesterday, we were out for a business meeting and didn’t have a choice but to eat outside. We choose to eat Sushi, as I recall the Sushi from this particular shop seems to be very mild in terms of using flavorings compared to almost all other restaurants. After no green tea and a few pieces of sushis with soy sauce, wasabi and what not, we felt pretty awful. First of all, I thought everything was very salty. Immediately after, I felt dehydrated. Our mood and energy came down a little and we felt a little irritated. My urine (sorry if this is too much information for you) was yellowish until mid day today even though I’ve been chunking a lot of water down my throat. Not just normal water. I’ve been drinking a lot of alkaline water with drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice. I’m not joking at all. In fact, I’m dead serious.
Imagine that. This sushi place served food that I used to think was the mildest turned out to be full of flavorings/MSGs. We used to love this place so much we eat at least once a month. This kind of effect has never happened to us before. Somehow our tongues are more sensitive to flavorings now…and also animal’s flesh. The worst part is the discomfort and lowered energy from eating such food. Perhaps instead of craving acid-forming food, our bodies are craving alkaline-forming food now. We’ve been nourishing ourselves so much that our cells doesn’t want to take crappy food anymore?
Today, my energy increased again during midday and I was so happy to feast on vegetables again. I can’t believe it. Alkaline diet is awesome. I’ve been running around meeting a lot of people this afternoon and I didn’t feel tired at all.

One of my friend just “Bazinga”-ed me. Argh! Looks like I’m breeding some Big Bang Theory addicts and it bites me back in the ass. Maybe I shouldn’t pass the rest of the seasons to him. My way of saving the world from a monster in the making…. hahaha
I don’t have much to talk about. I’ve been working overtime this week, juggling between my business and my new career. Phiew! 3 more days to go! This is going to be a busy but lucrative weekend. Yay!
Since last week, I started a new habit of remembering my dreams. Every night before I go to bed, I tell myself that I want to remember my dream. Every morning, when I wake up, I will try to recall my dreams. At the beginning, I had some very unwanted dreams. I was aware of how I felt in my dreams and I know that’s not what I want. There has been some improvements. The dream I had last night was a long but sweet one. I felt so happy in my dreams. It was a weird dream and didn’t make a lot of sense. But one thing’s for sure, fragments of it were very happy ones.
I wonder what I’ll dream about tonight. Can I please dream about my next two big sales and make it happen?
Thank you, Universe!

Just got back from watching the almost-two-and-a-half-hour-movie – The Karate Kid. It was pretty good. Thank you, XCool for cheering me up after a super stressful day.
Universe, I’m sorry I broke the pact. I will stick to it diligently from now on. Meanwhile, please give me the strength and patience to wait for the things I’ve asked for.
Thank you, Universe!

I’ve been so excited about the engagement that I never really put much thought into wedding planning. Yesterday night, I started reading from forums for some advices. Suddenly, a large amount of nervous neurons struck my body. How to start??? Couldn’t quite sleep whole night thinking and visualizing how the wedding is going to be. I guess I’ve never liked the traditional/cultural things people do. If my circumstances pemit, I plan to have it in a more special way. Cut off all those cultural formalities and have only those that are really important.
There seems to be a bit of inconsistencies when it comes to choosing our wedding date. My dad and sis preferred that we have it end of this year. XCool and I think that early next year would be better. I’ve set up date with XCool and future-MIL to consult a guy who helps people to choose date based on chinese calendar and our birth time (八字). After that, we have to start looking for the banquet venue. I heard from my friends that most people book one year in advance. wtf.
I’m doing a full shift in my restaurant tonight. So happy to have XCool accompany me (even though he is doing his work all the time). My sister fired our night supervisor hence we need to fill in the gaps every now and then until we find a suitable substitute. Having nothing much to do, and letting my foreign workers run the show (testing them as well), I decided to draw out my guest list. Wow! Not an easy task at all. Just for my own friends, I already have 8 tables. And this is after narrowing it down. Another 8 tables to be allocated for my relatives. wtf. Wonder how many tables to allocate for my dad’s friends…

Oh yah… Universe, please please please let me have this big big sales that will bring constant income flow every month! Thank you, Universe!
