It’s that time of the year again. Chinese New Year is nearing. Today (Feb 4th) in particular is what we known as Lap Chun/Li Chun. That means it is the First Day of Spring. Chinese believe that the whole of your year will be quite like whatever you do (or whatever that happens to you) on Lap Chun. Ok. So, this was how my day went….

An SMS woke me up at 10 a.m. in the morning. It was the everyday SMS by XCool to greet me good morning. I felt very energetic and immediately sprung out of the bed for my shower. Called my sister to inform her of Lap Chun and that we should not work so hard today. She was just as superstitious as I am and she called it a day at the restaurant. Called my dad to make sure that he banked in my cheque and he did. Yay! (Banking in money on Lap Chun symbolizes that a lot of money will be coming throughout the whole year)

Very quickly, it was lunch time already. I put on my super red t-shirt went to look for XCool, who was also wearing super red t-shirt. I told him to do so because wearing red on Lap Chun is to symbolize prosperity and fortune (plus it is my lucky color). We had McDonald’s. Then, I came home again to rest and watch TV. In the evening, XCool picked me up after work to have dinner in Klang. Food was yummy and surprisingly cheap. After dinner, we zoomed to his house. I watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs while he dozed off. Quite entertaining, I would say. Went back to close my shop.

What I’m trying to say is … I had a very relaxing Lap Chun with money banked in. This year will be like that. Relaxing, but with abundant of money flowing in.
